'Orensanz' is a map to link points, a guided tour of one of the most genuine artistic spaces of the Lower East Side of New York that becomes a revealing journey into the depths of the Aragonese Pyrenees and its people. Contemporary artist Angel Orensanz is the hinge between Manhattan and Larués. An omnipresent man who at the same time is nowhere, but everyone waits to see.
A quiet flock of sheep, a cat accustomed to dodging taxis in the big apple, the tanned hands of a stonecutter, the light that sneaks through the windows of a spectacular synagogue. It is the colors, the textures or the sounds that tell this story that reflects on the concept of fame and many other things.

Orensanz, an artist sailing between the countryside and The Big Apple

From the psychedelic interior of a New York synagogue to the quiet and rustic landscapes of a Spanish provincial town, this documentary invites us to a trip of counterpoints hardly imaginable in any other context than the cinematic one. Between these two spaces sails the renowned Spanish sculptor Angel Orensans, who becomes a sort of personified excuse to explore the seal that his work has left in the life of Larués, his Spanish native town.

In a daring narrative attempt, Spanish director Rocío Mesa goes beyond the traditional portrait of a consecrated personality to speak rather of his human and artistic imprint on a specific geography. Orensanz´s sculptures have been exhibited in the Ground Zero in New York, Venice, Tokyo and other important cities but have a different reverberation in Larués. The origin of his imaginary, the raw material he uses and his reputation among his neighbors is a subject of investigation in this valuable outstanding film.
