Every year, millions of birds migrate from the Northern Hemisphere to their winter homes in Africa's tropical wetlands. An UN-supported project in Senegal tries to protect the avian population in the area.
Safeguarding The Future Of Migratory Birds
Every year, millions of migratory birds flock to the Senegal River Delta in West Africa for wintering grounds.
There, a joint conservation project is underway. Known by its French acronym as “RESSOURCE”, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and international partners are empowering local communities to protect Sahelian wetlands and their bird populations.
