Three Stories From New York: Visual Artist Mirko Ilic

A visit to the Museum of Modern Art in New York is an opportunity to get acquainted with the works of graphic designer Mirko Ilic. Born in Bosnia, where he began his career drawing comics, illustrations and album covers that became icons of punk rock in the former Yugoslavia, Ilic tells us firsthand how he reconstructed his career during his American period.

In addition to the testimony that Ilic himself gives us from the comfort of his own studio in midtown Manhattan, several characters including art critics, curators and experienced designers draw a portrait of one of the most important contemporary designers worldwide. The short film is part of the expository proposal that director Zeljko Mirkovic uses in his trilogy of personalities of Serbian origin based in the Big Apple.
