Barry Manilow is a singer, songwriter, and producer best known for his hit songs such as “Mandy”, “Copacabana”, and “Can’t Smile Without You”. Born on June 17, 1943 in Brooklyn, New York, Manilow grew up in a musical family and was exposed to a variety of music styles from an early age. He began playing the piano at the age of seven and developed a passion for musical theatre.

Manilow attended New York College of Music and the Juilliard School, where he studied composition and arranging. After college, he began working as an arranger and producer for CBS, where he worked with such artists as Bette Midler, Dionne Warwick, and Tony Orlando. In 1972, he released his self-titled debut album which spawned several hit singles including “Mandy” and “It's A Miracle”.

Manilow’s success continued with the release of his second album, “Barry Manilow II”, which featured the hit single, “Could It Be Magic”. He then released his third album, “Tryin’ to Get the Feeling”, which featured the hit single, “I Write the Songs”. Manilow’s next album, “This One’s for You”, featured the hit singles “Weekend in New England” and “Can’t Smile Without You”.

In 1978, Manilow released the album “Even Now” which featured the hit single, “Copacabana (At the Copa)”. The song became an instant classic and remains one of his most popular songs to this day. In the 1980s, Manilow released several more albums including “One Voice”, “2:00 AM Paradise Cafe”, and “Here at the Mayflower”.

In the 1990s, Manilow released several more albums including “Singin’ with the Big Bands”, “Manilow Sings Sinatra”, and “Summer of ’78”. Throughout his career, Manilow has sold over 80 million albums worldwide and has won numerous awards including three Emmy Awards, a Tony Award, and a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
