Bastien Genoux is a Swiss film and television director from Geneva, Switzerland. He is best known for his critically acclaimed short films ‘A Winter’s Tale’ and ‘The Miracle of the Senses’.

Bastien Genoux was born in Geneva in 1981 and grew up in a creative and supportive family with a strong interest in the arts. He attended the University of Geneva, where he studied film directing. His graduation film was a short piece titled ‘A Winter’s Tale’ which he wrote, directed and edited himself. The film was a great success, winning numerous awards at international film festivals.

Genoux soon established himself as one of the most promising up-and-coming directors in Switzerland. In 2009 he was selected to participate in the Berlinale Talent Campus, where he was able to work with some of the most experienced film directors from all over the world.

In 2011, he released his first feature film, ‘The Miracle of the Senses’. The movie tells the story of a blind woman’s journey to find her lost sight. It was met with great critical acclaim, winning numerous awards including the Golden Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival.

Since then, Genoux has gone on to direct a number of television shows for Swiss and French television, as well as short films and documentaries. His work has been praised for its strong visual style and narrative structure.
