Benjamin Colaux is a French director, writer, and producer who is best known for his award-winning films. He was born in Paris in 1979 and grew up in the city’s suburbs. He studied film at the University of La Sorbonne and started making his own short films in his early twenties.

In 2008, he directed and co-wrote his first feature-length film, “Les Chiens de la Nuit” (The Dogs of the Night), which won the Prix de la Jeunesse at the Cannes Film Festival. The film was praised by critics for its originality and Colaux’s clever direction.

In 2009, Colaux’s second feature-length film, “Le Portail” (The Portal), was released. The film was an ambitious art-house drama set in a small French village. The film earned him the Prix du Jury at the Cannes Film Festival and cemented his reputation as a talented filmmaker.
