BIO

Benny Vink is an award-winning Dutch film director and actor. He is best known for his feature films, which have been screened at numerous international film festivals and won multiple awards.

Vink started his career as an actor in the late 1990s, appearing in several Dutch independent films. He quickly developed a passion for directing and in 2002, he wrote and directed his first short film, “The Blue Train.” The film won several awards and launched his career as a director.

In 2005, Vink made his feature film debut with “The Last Train.” The movie was an instant success, winning awards at multiple film festivals around the world. He followed this success with two more feature films, “The Return” (2012) and “The Journey” (2015). Both movies were critically acclaimed and further cemented Vink’s reputation as a director.

In recent years, Vink has focused on directing television series. He directed several episodes of the popular Dutch series “De Uitverkorene” and “Het Zesde Zintuig.” He was also the creative director of the Dutch drama series “Liefde & Leed”.

Vink has been recognized for his work with numerous awards and nominations. He has won awards for Best Director at the Dutch Film Festival, the San Sebastian International Film Festival, the Berlin International Film Festival, and the Toronto International Film Festival.

In addition to his work as a director, Vink is also an active member of the Dutch film industry. He is a founding member of the Dutch Academy of Film, which seeks to promote and support Dutch filmmakers. He is also a frequent guest speaker at international film festivals and events.

Throughout his career, Vink has managed to combine his love of filmmaking with his commitment to the Dutch film industry. His work has been recognized by audiences and critics around the world, cementing his place as one of the most talented directors in the Netherlands.
