Brian Keith Allen

Brian Keith Allen, born April 25, 1966, is an American actor, director, and producer best known for his roles on the television series “The West Wing” and “Malcolm in the Middle.” He has also appeared in a number of films, including “The Cable Guy” and “The Whole Nine Yards.”

Brian grew up in Los Angeles, California. He began his acting career at a young age, appearing in commercials and small roles on television shows. In the early 1990s, he made his feature film debut in the comedy “Coneheads” and later had supporting roles in films such as “Sleepless in Seattle” and “The Cable Guy.”

In the late 1990s, Allen became more widely known for his role as President Josiah Bartlet’s press secretary, Toby Ziegler, on the critically acclaimed television series “The West Wing.” He starred on the show for seven seasons, and his performance earned him an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

In 2000, Allen landed the role of Hal Wilkerson on the FOX sitcom “Malcolm in the Middle.” His performance earned him an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. He starred on the show for seven seasons, and his performance earned him two additional Emmy Award nominations.

In addition to his television roles, Allen has appeared in a number of films, including “The Whole Nine Yards,” “The Cat in the Hat,” and “The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause.” He also starred in the independent film “Lovely by Surprise,” which was released in 2007.

In recent years, Allen has appeared in a number of television films and guest starred on shows such as “Criminal Minds” and “The Mentalist.” He has also been a guest judge on “Project Runway.”

In addition to his acting career, Allen is an avid photographer and has published a book of his work titled “Shadows of the West.” He is also a passionate supporter of animal rights, and has served on the board of the Los Angeles Zoo.
