BIO

Calum Waddell is a British film director and writer. He is best known for his work in the horror genre, including the award-winning documentaries Horror Euro Express and All The Colors of Giallo.

Born in London, England, Waddell studied at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland, where he graduated with a degree in Film and Television. After graduating, he began to work in the film and television industry, working as an assistant director and editor.

In 2012, he wrote and directed his first feature film, Horror Euro Express, which was released to critical acclaim. The film won numerous awards, including Best Feature Film at the London FrightFest and Best International Feature at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival.

In 2015, Waddell wrote and directed his second feature film, All The Colors of Giallo, which focused on the history of the Italian horror movie genre. The film was well-received and won numerous awards, including Best Documentary at the Fantaspoa Film Festival and Best Documentary at the Fantasia Film Festival.

Over the years, Waddell has directed numerous short films, including The Curse of Dr. Fu Manchu, The Descent and The Fog. He has also written several books, including The History of Horror Cinema and The Ultimate Guide to Giallo Movies.

Waddell currently lives in London, England, where he continues to write and direct films. He is currently working on his third feature film, The Haunting of Hill House, which is scheduled to be released in 2021.
