Claudio Miguel Pizarro Bosio is a Peruvian retired football player and current director of the sports department of Werder Bremen. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest Peruvian footballers of all time.
Born in Lima, Peru, in 1978, Pizarro began his football career with Alianza Lima. At age 16, he was recruited to play in the Peruvian First Division. His performances in the league earned him a transfer to Werder Bremen in 1999, where he made a name for himself as one of the best strikers in the Bundesliga.
Pizarro was an integral part of the Werder Bremen team that won the Bundesliga title in 2003 and 2004. He also helped the team reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League in 2006.
In 2012, Pizarro returned to Werder Bremen, this time as a director of the sports department. He was responsible for scouting and signing new players, as well as overseeing the team’s youth academy. He has been praised for his work in the field and is credited with helping the team achieve success in recent years.
