David Fernández de Castro is a Spanish director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work on the hit series Money Heist, where he served as executive producer and director.

Fernández de Castro grew up in Madrid, Spain, and developed a passion for filmmaking early on. After completing a degree in Audiovisual Communication at the Complutense University of Madrid, he began his career in television, working as a director and editor for several Spanish and international television programs.

In 2008, he directed his first short film, "La otra cara del espejo" (The Other Side of the Mirror), which was awarded the Best Screenplay and Best Short Film at the Madrid International Film Festival. This success earned him recognition in the Spanish film industry and opened the door to further opportunities.

In 2011, Fernández de Castro directed his first feature film, "The Last Blackout." The film was well-received, and Fernández de Castro received several awards for it, including Best Director at the San Sebastián International Film Festival.

In 2016, Fernández de Castro was hired to direct and produce the hit Spanish series Money Heist. He served as an executive producer for all four seasons of the show, and also directed several episodes. Money Heist has become one of the most successful Spanish series of all time, and Fernández de Castro has received critical acclaim for his work on it.

Fernández de Castro’s other credits include directing the feature film "The Last Blackout" (2016), and the short films "El último viaje" (The Last Trip, 2017) and "Un lugar en el mundo" (A Place in the World, 2018). He has also served as executive producer on several series and films, including "The Protagonist" (2016), "Cain and Abel" (2017), and "The Kingdom" (2018).

Fernández de Castro is a talented director and has won numerous awards for his work. He is currently working on several new projects, and his long career in the Spanish film industry is far from over.
