Dolly Wells is an English actress and writer who has become increasingly popular since her breakout role in the British comedy, “Bridget Jones’s Baby.” She has gone on to appear in numerous films and television shows, including “Doll & Em” and “Dr. Who.”

Wells was born on July 23, 1984 in London, England. She began her acting career at an early age, appearing in school plays and commercials. She was accepted into the prestigious National Youth Theatre at 16, and went on to study acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.

Wells made her professional debut in the 2003 film “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason.” She soon landed a series regular role in the BBC series “Doll & Em” which she co-created and wrote with her friend and former flat mate, Emily Mortimer. The show ran for two seasons and received critical acclaim.

In 2013, Wells was cast in the film “Bridget Jones’s Baby” as the American obstetrician, Dr. Rawlings. The role was a breakthrough for Wells and she received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the British Independent Film Awards. Wells has also appeared in numerous television series, including the third season of the BBC drama “Sherlock,” the British comedy “Flack” and “Dr. Who.” She was also cast as the lead in the Netflix original series “Living with Yourself” in 2019.

In addition to her acting work, Wells is also an author. She has written two books, “It’s Not Me, It’s You” and “The New Girl.” Both books were critically acclaimed and earned her a nomination for the British Book Awards.
