Drew Pinsky, also known as Dr. Drew, is a well-known American doctor, media personality, and addiction specialist. He is best known for his work on Loveline, Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, and Dr. Drew On Call. He has appeared as a guest on many other television shows and radio programs, including The Adam Carolla Show and The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Born in Pasadena, California in 1958, Pinsky graduated from Amherst College with a degree in biology in 1980. He then studied medicine at the University of Southern California, where he graduated with an M.D. in 1984. In 1988, Pinsky began working at the Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA, and went on to become an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the school in 1993.

Pinsky began his radio career in 1984, when he began co-hosting the radio show Loveline with Adam Carolla. The show focused on sexual health and relationship advice, and was syndicated nationally in 1995. Pinsky would go on to become a regular guest on The Adam Carolla Show in 2006.

In 2008, Pinsky began hosting the reality television series Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, which followed the treatment of celebrities struggling with addiction. The show ran for six seasons, and was followed by its spin-off Sober House. In 2011, Pinsky began hosting the HLN series Dr. Drew On Call, which ran for five seasons.

Pinsky has also written several books, including The Mirror Effect: How Celebrity Narcissism is Seducing America, and co-authored a self-help book entitled Cracked: Putting Broken Lives Together Again. He has also released several podcasts, including The Dr. Drew Podcast and Dr. Drew After Dark.

Throughout his career, Pinsky has been recognized for his work, having received several awards and accolades, including a Visionary Award from the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and a Humanitarian Award from the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.

Pinsky is married to his wife Susan Pinsky, and together they have three children. He is an avid cyclist, and enjoys playing the guitar and piano in his spare time.
