Evangelia Kranioti is a Greek filmmaker and visual artist. She has been making films since 2008, focusing on social and cultural issues. Her works have been screened in various international film festivals, including Cannes, Berlinale, and Locarno Film Festival. She is known for her unique and experimental approach to filmmaking.

Born in Athens, Greece, Evangelia studied Theater, Film and Television at the University of the Aegean in Rhodes, and later, at the School of Fine Arts in Paris. She has received many awards for her work, including the Golden Dove at the Leipzig International Film Festival, the Best Film Award at the International Documentary Film Festival in Amsterdam, and the Special Jury Prize at the Sundance Festival.

Her debut feature film, “Exotica, Erotica, Etc.”, was released in 2015. It follows the story of an aging cabaret dancer and her journey of self-discovery. The film won the Best Greek Film Award at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival.

In 2018, Evangelia released her second feature film, “Odessa,” which follows the story of a young Greek-American woman who travels to the city of Odessa in Ukraine to explore her family's past. The film earned her the Best Director Award at the Athens International Film Festival.

Evangelia has also directed several short films, including “Athina” in 2016. The film follows a young girl in Athens who is struggling to find her place in the world. It won the Best Short Film Award at the International Short Film Festival in Athens.

Evangelia has also directed several documentaries, including “The Invisible” in 2018 and “Parallel Roads” in 2019. Her latest project is the documentary “The Longest Winter”, which follows the story of a group of Greek refugees and their struggles during the Greek economic crisis.

Evangelia has become one of the most influential filmmakers in Greece, and her work has been praised by critics around the world. She is known for her unique visual style, her ability to tell stories that move and inspire audiences, and her commitment to social and cultural issues.
