Fábio Seixo is a Brazilian director, producer, and screenwriter, born in São Paulo in 1969. He has been an important figure in the Brazilian film industry for more than two decades.

He made his directorial debut with the 2002 independent film “Casa de Praia”, which was nominated for several awards at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival. He went on to direct the critically acclaimed “Uma Noite” (2004) and “O Dia dos Mortos” (2007).

In 2008, he directed the well-received “Eu Sou o Fim”, which won the FIPRESCI award at the Brasília International Film Festival and the Best Feature Film award at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival. It was also nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival.

In 2009, Seixo directed “O Anjo”, which was nominated for the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival and won the Best Feature Film award at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival. He also directed the highly-acclaimed “Deus e o Diabo na Terra do Sol” (2010), which won several awards at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival and was nominated for the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

Seixo’s latest films, “A História dos Corvos” (2013) and “Uma Estrela na Terra” (2015), have both won numerous awards and have been praised for their inventive and thought-provoking storylines.

Fábio Seixo has been recognized for his unique visual style and the strong themes present in his films. He is an important figure in the Brazilian film industry and his work continues to be celebrated.
