Felipe Lion is a critically acclaimed Brazilian film director, producer, and screenwriter. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Lion began his career as a director at the age of 19 with his short film "O Tempo e o Vento", which won the Best Short Film award at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival.

Lion has gone on to direct several feature films, including "O Invasor" (2003), which earned him his first international recognition at the Cannes Film Festival. His second feature, "Cidade Cinza" (2006), won the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival.

In 2008, Lion released his third feature, "Bom Dia, Cidadão", which won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival, making him the first Brazilian director to win the prestigious award. The film was also named among the ten best foreign films of the year by Roger Ebert.

In 2010, Lion released his fourth feature, "A Familia do Futuro", which earned him the Best Screenplay award at the Venice Film Festival. The film was also selected for the Golden Globe Awards, making it the first Brazilian film to be nominated for the prestigious award.

Lion's fifth feature, "Cidade dos Homens", was released in 2014 and was nominated for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. The film was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Over the course of his career, Lion has received numerous awards, including the Best Director Award at the São Paulo International Film Festival, the Best Director Award at the Brazil Film Awards, and the Best Screenplay Award at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival. He has also been honored by the Brazilian government, receiving the Order of Merit from the President of Brazil in 2014.

Lion continues to be a prominent figure in Brazilian cinema, and his films have been praised for their intense visual style and exploration of themes such as social inequality and the changing landscape of Brazilian culture. He is considered one of the most important Brazilian filmmakers of the 21st century.
