Gaia Formenti is an Italian film director, producer, and screenwriter. Born in Rome in 1985, she is the daughter of two Italian filmmakers and grew up surrounded by the art of cinema. After graduating from the University of Rome, she attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome and then the London Film School.

Gaia's first feature film, "The Glance of Music," premiered at the Rome International Film Festival in 2011 and won the Grand Jury Prize at the Festival. The film follows a young woman's journey to discover her identity in a world filled with music, dance, and passion. Since then, she has directed and produced several short films, documentaries, and feature films, including "Tutto il Mondo," "The Girl from Padua," and "The Third Eye."

In 2017, she was selected to participate in the Berlinale Talents program and was awarded the Cinefondation residency at the Cannes Film Festival. She has also been invited to speak at various international film festivals and universities, including the Venice Film Festival, the Locarno Film Festival, the University of Bologna, and the University of California, Los Angeles.
