Isabela Falcao Vaz is a Brazilian film director and screenwriter. She is best known for her award-winning feature film, A Janela Aberta (The Open Window), which was released in 2018.

Born in Brasilia, Brazil, Isabela developed an early passion for film and began making short films as a teenager. After finishing high school, she attended the University of Brasilia, where she earned a degree in film studies. She then went on to study film directing at the London Film School.

In 2016, Isabela wrote and directed her first feature film, A Janela Aberta, which was released in 2018. The film tells the story of a young woman who lives in a remote Brazilian village and is forced to confront the secrets of her family's past. The film was well-received by critics and won numerous awards, including the Best Brazilian Feature at the Paulínia Film Festival.

In 2020, Isabela was selected to be the artistic director of the International Film Festival of Brasilia. She was also invited to be a jury member at the Cannes Film Festival in 2021.

Isabela has been praised for her cinematic style, which combines elements of realism and fantasy to explore themes of identity, memory, and family. Her films have been described as “visually striking” and “emotionally powerful”.
