Jenni Kivistö is a Finnish film director, screenwriter, and producer. She is best known for her work on the critically acclaimed films ‘The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki’ and ‘Tom of Finland’.

Kivistö was born in the small town of Kajaani in northern Finland. She developed an interest in film at an early age, watching classic films such as ‘Citizen Kane’ and ‘Casablanca’. She graduated from the Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture with a degree in film directing and screenwriting.

Kivistö’s first feature film was the romantic comedy ‘The Happiest Day in the Life of Olli Mäki’, which was released in 2016. The film won the Un Certain Regard Award at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
