Julien Mérienne is a French film director and screenwriter. He is best known for his work in the French film industry, having directed two feature films, two short films, and numerous commercials.

He was born in Bordeaux in 1977. His parents were both teachers, and his passion for film grew from his childhood, when he would spend time in the local cinemas. After completing his studies at the University of Bordeaux, he moved to Paris to pursue a career in the film industry.

Mérienne began his career as an assistant director for various French television shows. He then went on to direct his first feature film, "Futur Immédiat" in 2002. The film, which was based on a book by acclaimed French author Philippe Jaenada, was nominated for several awards and received critical acclaim.

In 2008, Mérienne directed his second feature film, "En Attendant Le Bonheur". The film tells the story of two brothers and their struggles to come to terms with their father's death. It was well received by critics and went on to be nominated for numerous awards.
