Katarzyna Gondek is a Polish director best known for her award-winning feature films and documentaries. She was born in 1977 in Poland and studied at the National Film School in Lodz, where she graduated with distinction.

Gondek’s career began in 2002 when she wrote and directed her first feature film, “Birds of Passage”. This film told the story of a young girl who is sent to a remote village in the mountains of Poland to reconnect with her roots and discover her true identity. The film was critically acclaimed and won several awards at international film festivals.

Since then, Gondek has directed multiple films, documentaries, and television series. Her most recent feature film, “The Woman in the Snow”, was released in 2018. This film tells the story of a young woman who is struggling to make sense of her life after her husband dies in a car accident. It was nominated for several awards and won the Golden Lion at the Gdynia Film Festival.
