Kays Khalil is an independent film director and producer from Lebanon. He is best known for his films "The Kite" and "Ceasefire".

Born in Beirut, Lebanon in 1979, Khalil was raised in a traditional Lebanese family. He attended Beirut University where he studied film and television. After graduating, he began his career as a director, working on short films and documentaries.

Khalil has won several awards for his work, including the Best Director prize at the Beirut International Film Festival for his film "The Kite" in 2006. His second film, "Ceasefire", won the Best Feature Film at the Dubai International Film Festival in 2007.

Khalil's films are known for their bold and creative storytelling. His films often focus on the experiences of everyday people in the Middle East and North Africa region and explore themes of identity, politics, and history. In addition to his work as a director, Khalil has also served as a script doctor and producer on various projects.
