Malte Ludin is an award-winning German film director, screenwriter, and producer. He was born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, in 1974. He studied film and television at the Academy of Television & Film in Munich, graduating in 1999.
Ludin's first feature film, The Miracle of Bern (2003), was a critical and commercial success, winning the Audience Award and the Ecumenical Prize at the Berlin Film Festival, as well as seven German Film Awards. His follow-up, The White Ribbon (2009), earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Foreign Language Film, as well as the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
Ludin has worked with a variety of actors, including Daniel Brühl, Martina Gedeck, and Burghart Klaußner. He has also collaborated with many notable producers, such as Stefan Arndt, Ulrich Felsberg, and Herbert G. Kloiber.

Ludin's most recent work, Labyrinth of Lies (2014), was nominated for eight German Film Awards. His upcoming projects include the television series The Same Sky, which follows the lives of East German spies during the Cold War.
