Matthieu Chatellier is a French director and screenwriter. He is known for his work on the films “The Return of the Living Dead” (1985), “The Backwoods” (2006) and “The Dormant” (2011).
Born in France in 1971, Matthieu Chatellier was raised in a family of filmmakers. His father was a film director and his mother a screenwriter. As a young child, Chatellier was surrounded by the film industry, and it was only natural that he would follow in his parents’ footsteps and pursue a career in filmmaking.
Chatellier began his film career in the mid-1980s, when he wrote and directed his first feature film “The Return of the Living Dead”. The film was a box-office success and went on to become a cult classic. This success set the stage for Chatellier’s subsequent films, which included the horror film “The Backwoods” (2006) and the psychological thriller “The Dormant” (2011).
