Maya Kosa is a French-Swiss director and screenwriter, based in Paris, best known for her work in documentaries and feature films. Her work has been recognized at film festivals and awards ceremonies around the world, and she has been praised for her unique and creative vision.

Kosa was born in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1985. She studied film and television directing at La Fémis in Paris, and graduated in 2009. She then moved to Los Angeles, where she wrote and directed her first feature film, “The Young Ones”, which was featured at the Cannes Film Festival in 2016.

Kosa then returned to Paris, where she worked on a variety of documentaries, including “The Disappearance of the Jews in Europe” (2016), “The City of Lights” (2017), and “The Last Dream of the Cold War” (2018). In 2019, she released her second feature film, “The Man Who Surfed the Wave”, which won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival.

Kosa has also directed numerous short films, including “The Cat and the Moon” (2010), “The White Room” (2012), “The Last Words of the Great Men” (2014), and “The Trace of Time” (2016). Her work has been shown at festivals around the world, including the Toronto International Film Festival, the Venice Film Festival, and the Berlin International Film Festival.
