Michael Collins is an American director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work on the hit television series The O.C. and the feature films P.S. I Love You and The Lucky One.
Born in 1971 in New York City, Collins grew up in a creative family. His mother was a fashion designer and his father an artist. From a young age, he was encouraged to explore his artistic talents and was an avid reader and movie lover.
Collins attended the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, where he studied film and television production. He graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
