Pablo García Pérez de Lara is a critically acclaimed Spanish film director, screenwriter, and producer. He is best known for his dark, surreal films that explore the human condition, often with a humorous and satirical edge.

García Pérez de Lara was born in Madrid, Spain in 1978. He studied at the Madrid Film School and graduated with a degree in film direction in 2002. After graduation, he founded his own production company, Madhouse, and began working on short films. He quickly gained recognition for his work, and in 2004 he received the Goya Award for Best Short Film for his film “La Mirada de Los Otros” (The Look of Others).

In 2008, García Pérez de Lara released his first feature-length film, “Los Girasoles Ciegos” (Blind Sunflowers). The film was a critical success, and it was nominated for eight Goya Awards, including Best Picture. It won three awards, including Best Director and Best New Actor.

Since then, García Pérez de Lara has continued to make critically acclaimed films. In 2013, he released “Canción de Lluvia” (Rain Song), which was nominated for five Goya Awards and won two.
