Pedro Miguel Oliveira is a renowned Portuguese director, producer and screenwriter who has been working in the film industry since 2004. He is best known for directing critically acclaimed films such as “Leopard” (2020) and “The Other Side of the Bed” (2018). He also wrote and directed the film “The Son of the Bride” (2017), which was nominated for six awards at the Portuguese Golden Globe.

Oliveira was born in Porto, Portugal in 1975. He started his career as a production assistant in Portuguese television. Later, he studied film directing at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema in Lisbon. After graduating, he worked with renowned Portuguese directors such as Manoel de Oliveira, João Botelho and Leonel Vieira.

In 2004, Oliveira wrote and directed his first feature film, “The Invisibles”. The film was critically acclaimed and won several awards including the Best Film and Best Director at the Portuguese Golden Globe. This success led to him directing the feature film “The Other Side of the Bed” (2018). The film was nominated for seven awards at the Portuguese Golden Globe.

In 2020, Oliveira released his most critically acclaimed film, “Leopard”. The film was nominated for two awards at the Portuguese Golden Globe and won the Best Film award. The film follows the story of a young man who returns to his hometown in Portugal in order to find his estranged father.

Oliveira is currently working on his next feature film, “The Spin”, which is due to be released in 2021. He is also developing a television series for Netflix.
