Julia Panasenko is a Russian-born film director, producer and screenwriter. She has worked in film and television for over 20 years.
Panasenko was born in Moscow in 1972. She attended the Russian State University of Cinematography in Moscow, where she studied film directing and screenwriting. She graduated in 1996.
After graduation, Panasenko moved to St. Petersburg, where she worked for the St. Petersburg-based production company, Videofilm. She worked as a producer and director on a number of projects, including documentary films and television series.
In 2006, Panasenko moved to Los Angeles, where she wrote and directed her first feature-length film, "The Woman in the Window". The film was a success, and was nominated for several awards, including the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
Since then, Panasenko has directed several films, including "The Last Train" (2008), "The Endless Summer" (2010), and "The Other Side" (2012). She has also produced and written a number of films, including "The Beautiful Game" (2011) and "The Last Christmas" (2013).
