Alain Prost is a French former motor racing driver who is widely considered to be one of the greatest Formula One drivers of all time. A four-time World Champion, he is the only driver to have won the World Championship in four different decades.

Prost was born in France on February 24, 1955. He started his career in motorsport in 1975, driving for the French Renault team. He quickly made a name for himself, winning the French Formula Three Championship in 1977. In 1980, Prost made his Formula One debut with McLaren, and in 1984 he won his first world championship.

Prost continued to dominate the sport throughout the 1980s, winning three more championships with McLaren and one with Ferrari. He was known for his smooth driving style and his ability to conserve his tyres. His rivalry with teammate Ayrton Senna is one of the most famous in Formula One history, as the two competed for the title in 1988, 1989 and 1990.

In 1993, Prost retired from Formula One but continued to race in other series, including Le Mans and IndyCar. He returned to Formula One in 1997, driving for Williams and winning his fourth world championship. He retired from racing for good in 2001.

In addition to his racing career, Prost has also been involved in other motorsport activities. He runs his own Formula One team – Prost Grand Prix – which he founded in 1997. He also serves as a consultant and ambassador for Renault, and is a member of the FIA's Hall of Fame.

Prost is widely regarded as one of the greatest Formula One drivers of all time. He is the only driver to have won the World Championship in four different decades, and he holds the record for most wins (51) and most pole positions (33). He is also the second-most successful driver in terms of podium finishes, with 106.
