Lonnie Dupre is an award-winning director and explorer best known for his documentaries about extreme adventure and exploration. He has produced and directed films in the Arctic, Greenland, Antarctica, the Amazon, the Pacific, and other remote regions of the world.

Dupre was born in Duluth, Minnesota in 1971 and grew up in a family of outdoor enthusiasts. He was inspired by the stories of his family’s adventures and began his own exploration at a young age. In high school, Dupre won the Minnesota State High School Outdoor Adventure Championship, and later became a two-time All American in Nordic Skiing.

After college, Dupre’s passion for adventure drew him to the Arctic. He spent several months in the Arctic, producing and directing documentaries about the region. His work focused on the Inuit people and their relationship with the environment, and he was the first to film a full-length documentary about Greenland.

In 2003, Dupre embarked on a solo six-month journey to the Antarctic. He travelled over 2,000 miles by ski, kayak, and foot, and documented his journey in a film, Alone Across Antarctica. The film won numerous awards and was distributed worldwide.

Following his Antarctic adventure, Dupre explored the Amazon rainforest and the Pacific Ocean. He produced films about his journeys, which focused on the effects of human activity on the environment and the resilience of nature in the face of adversity.

Today, Dupre continues to explore and document his adventures around the world. He has written two books about his experiences, and his films have been featured on television and in festivals around the world. He also serves as an ambassador for the National Wildlife Federation and The Wild Foundation, and is a founding board member of the Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation.
