BIO

Randy Barbato is an American director, producer, and writer. He is best known for his work on the groundbreaking documentary series The Eyes of Tammy Faye, co-directed with Fenton Bailey. He and Bailey also produced numerous other documentaries and feature films, including Inside Deep Throat and the Emmy-winning The Last Beekeeper.

Barbato was born in 1966 in New York City and grew up on Long Island. He attended New York University, where he earned a degree in film and television. After college, Barbato began working as an editor for documentaries and television shows, including HBO’s Real Sex and the Lifetime channel’s Intimate Portrait series.

In 1994, Barbato and Bailey founded their production company World of Wonder. Together, they directed and produced the Emmy-nominated documentary The Eyes of Tammy Faye, about the life and times of evangelist Tammy Faye Bakker. The film was a hit with critics and audiences alike, and their success led to more projects.

Barbato and Bailey went on to produce several other documentaries, feature films, and television shows. They have also received Emmy Awards for their work on the documentary series The Last Beekeeper, and their documentary Inside Deep Throat was nominated for an Academy Award.
