Tamer Ezzat is an Egyptian director, producer, and screenwriter. He is best known for his work on films such as The Circus (2005), The Yacoubian Building (2006), and The Citizen (2013).

Ezzat was born in 1975 in Cairo, Egypt, and graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in 2000. After graduating, he worked as a freelance director and producer. In 2004, he directed and produced his first feature film, The Circus, which was a critical and commercial success. The film won several awards, including Best Film at the Cairo International Film Festival and the FIPRESCI Prize at the Toronto International Film Festival.

In 2006, Ezzat directed and produced The Yacoubian Building, which was based on Alaa Al Aswany’s best-selling novel of the same name. The film was a huge success, and it was nominated for Best Film at the Cairo International Film Festival and the Golden Pyramid Award at the Cairo International Film Festival.

In 2010, Ezzat directed and produced the Egyptian drama The Citizen, which was based on the novel of the same name by Ahdaf Soueif. The film was a critical and commercial success, and it won several awards, including the Grand Prize at the Cairo International Film Festival and the Audience Award at the Dubai International Film Festival.

Ezzat has since gone on to direct and produce several more films, including the crime drama Cairo Time (2011), the romantic comedy The City of Time (2012), and the drama Everything Else (2015). He has also produced a number of TV series, including the historical drama The Kingdom (2013) and the comedy series El-Nas Wayla (2015).
