Tamuna Jalaghania-Brisson is a French director, producer and screenwriter. She was born in Paris in 1983 and has been passionate about film from a young age. She has studied and worked in cinema since her teenage years, and as an adult, she has worked in the film industry for over 15 years.
Tamuna began her career in cinema within the advertising industry, working on spots and music videos. Soon after she started writing, directing and producing short films, which have been screened in many international film festivals such as Cannes, Clermont-Ferrand, and Annecy.
In 2010, her short film “On the Wings of a White Bird” received the Prix du Public at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. She went on to direct the feature-length documentary “The Secret of the Golden Grass” in 2013, which was selected to be part of the Cannes Film Festival's Quinzaine des Réalisateurs section.
In 2016, Tamuna was selected as one of the participants in the prestigious Cannes Cinéfondation Residence program in Paris. During her time there, she wrote and directed her first feature-length fiction film, "The Other Side of the Mirror", which premiered at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. The film was also selected as the opening night film at the 2019 Gijón International Film Festival.
Since then, Tamuna has continued to write and direct many award-winning short and feature-length films. Her latest project, “The River of Time”, is scheduled to be released in 2021.
Throughout her career, Tamuna has worked with many talented actors and directors, and has been the recipient of many awards and nominations. She is passionate about telling stories that explore different cultures and themes, and her work is known for its visual and emotional impact.
