Veronika Lisková is a Czech film director who is known for her unique, genre-bending work. She has directed a variety of feature films, television series, and short films over the course of her career.

Lisková was born in Prague in 1979. She attended the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU), where she studied film directing. She graduated with honors in 2002 and soon after that, she started making her own films and television series.

Her first feature film, The Return of the Prodigal Son, was released in 2005 and received critical acclaim. The film follows a young man who returns to his hometown after a long absence and has to come to terms with his past. The film was nominated for several awards and won the Best Film award at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

In 2009, Lisková directed her second film, My Best Enemy, which follows a young girl who must confront her past and present in order to survive. This film was also well-received and was awarded the Special Jury Prize at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival.

Lisková has also directed several television series, including the popular series, The Witch Hunters, which follows a group of modern-day witch hunters in Prague. The series was a hit with audiences and has been broadcast across Europe.

In addition to her work in film and television, Lisková has also directed a number of short films. She has won numerous awards for her short films, including Best Short Film at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival and Best International Short Film at the Sundance Film Festival.
