Zhang Mengqi is a renowned Chinese film director, producer and screenwriter. Born in Beijing in 1982, Zhang began her career in the film industry in 2003, working as an editor for a television series. She then went on to write and produce her own films, beginning with the romantic comedy, "Love is Not Blind" in 2011.

Since then, Zhang has made a name for herself in the Chinese film industry. Her films often explore themes of family and relationships, and she has a knack for creating characters that resonate with audiences. Her most successful films to date include "So Young" (2013), which tells the story of a group of college students who come of age in the 90s; and "Soul Mate" (2016), a romantic drama about two female friends.
